Early airway Focused ORTHODONTICS  For Children

Early Orthodontic Treatment

Clear aligners are tooth movement devices that are a transparent, plastic form of orthodontic braces used to adjust teeth. They are effective for moderate crowding of the front teeth, but less effective than conventional braces for several other issues and are not recommended for young children, but can be used in responsible teenagers and adults. They are indicated for "mild to moderate crowding” (1–6 mm) and “mild to moderate spacing” (1–6 mm), in cases where there are no discrepancies of the jaw structure exists. They are also indicated for patients who have experienced a relapse from not wearing the retainers as prescribed after fixed orthodontic treatment.

Clear-aligner treatment involves an orthodontist who creates a digital tooth scan. This is sent over the Internet to the lab who creates a digital file. The computerized model suggests stages between the current and desired teeth positions, and aligners are created for each stage. Each aligner is worn for 22 hours a day for one to four weeks intervals. The number of clear aligners vary due to the severity of the case. These clear aligners slowly move the teeth into the position agreed between the orthodontist and the patient.
